frog poem growing up

1) Warm thick slobber sounds like a childs description
2) This ugly image would be appealing for a child.
3) Onomatopoeia is used in the word slobber this means it is makes the same noise as it is describing.
4) Clotted water in the shade of the banks this is a simile because it uses like infront of it this is saying that it is simalare to it.
5) They are effective because it gives you a mental picture in youre head so you can follow the poem.

But best of all was the warm thick slobber
Of frogs porn that grew like clotted water
In the shade of the banks. Here, every spring
I would fill jampotfuls of the jellied
Specks to range on window-sills at home.
On shelves at school, and wait and watch until
The fattening dots burst into nimble.
Swimming tadpoles.

We know that this image was created by a nature lesson because at the start of the poem starts with Miss Walls. The first section of the poem is quite a friendly tone but the second half of the poem starts to get quite aggresive.

Festered, rotted, sweltered and punished are all negative words are telling you about bat things which happens rotting and punishment. Gargled is quite harsh but delicately softens the tone. Oxymoron is a figure of speech which contridicts what the writer has wrote. Metaphor is a figure of speech in which a thing is decribed as what it resembles.

Enjomberment
Caesura deliberate pause in the middle of the line
Assonance
Oxymorron
Metphors and simaleas

He repaeates we to make the poem comfort and to give a sense of togetherness of the poem.

The houses are built sqaute and they have realy thick walls so they are prepared for the storms.

Ther is an example of assonance in line two

The word wizend means shriveld and old but it can also mean wise and experienced

Nothing grows on the island

Ther is a sicsuora this is a deliberate breake in line one

Ther are breaks at the end of line 1 and 2. the rest of the poem uses enjomberment.

The first two lines have plenty of pauses in because they are preparing themselves for the storm thats coming. The rest of the poem talks about how the storm moves and changes. There are no stanzas in the poem because it is in the storm and cannot rest and pause

Line 6 to 10

Enjomberment in the first few line. Full blast this is unexpexted

Line 7 convesational tone (you know what i mean) It addresses the reader directly.

Line 10 the wind is personified because the wind cant pummel . It is given human characteristics.
